Lets make a fad diet!

Each and everyday you hear me slate fad diets and say how bad they are for your health, so why on earth am I going to make one? Well I'm going to show you how easy it is to make one, show you exactly how most of them operate and tell you why they should be avoided!

First of all, we must pick a total calorie goal that is extremely low, one that is much lower than the average to create a huge calorie deficit. Basically, a calorie deficit (present when you consume less calories than your body requires) will result in weight loss. For successful and safe results, you shouldn't create a huge deficit. When you drastically reduce the calories you eat, especially over a prolonged period of time you will face complications. You will always be tired, you will lose muscle, you will ruin your figure, you will have a slower metabolism, you will have trouble sleeping, you will be fatigued and in most cases you'll have major mood swings.

Yes you lose weight when on these ridiculously low calorie diets, but this weight loss isn't just fat. It's mostly water and muscle. This is a bad thing, not only for your health, but also for your figure. The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolic rate (meaning you burn more calories through the day), the more shape your figure will have (meaning you'll look better) and the stronger you will be (meaning daily tasks will become easier). So losing muscle means you miss out on all these benefits.

So back to creating the fad diet, first of all lets pick a total calorie goal that leaves us in a huge calorie deficit, let's say 1200 (bare in mind the average woman is said to require 2000). Now we need to replace 2 meals with my "special" product (that is probably full of junk but will be in the form of a health bar or shake). My "special product" is simply going to be a 50g serving of Haribo (about 150kcals).

We then have to give the consumer some comfort to make them feel in control, so lets allow them to have a home cooked, 700 calorie meal of their choice. We also tell them to include lots of leafy greens in their diet as this is super low calorie and is very good for us. Not to forget drinking a big glass of water before every meal, because we know hydration is important.

So how's it looking...

Breakfast: Haribo's (150kcal)
Snack: Apple (100kcal)
Lunch: Haribo's (150kcal)
Snack: Banana (100kcal)
Dinner: Homemade option (700kcal)

Thats our daily total of 1200 calories done and there we have it! Now all we need is a catchy name...

Hadee's Haribo Diet!

Mmm, I like it. Lets go with that!

Now I know some of you are screaming at the screen saying "but Haribo's are full of sugar" (let me remind you that most products these fad diets produce are high in sugar), this is ridiculous, it would never work . I'm telling you now, if the average female were to follow that (I DO NOT ADVISE YOU TO), they would lose weight. Why? Because if you put anyone in a calorie deficit that large, weight loss will happen. Notice I have said weight loss and not fat loss.

If a killer zombie captured me tonight and chewed off my arm, guess what... I would of lost weight! Hurray! Where's my pretty pink certificate?

I really don't mean to sound like an ar*e, but I am trying to get you to understand that weight loss isn't always a sign you're making improvements to your figure. Like I said earlier, weight loss can mean muscle and water loss, both are things that'll have a NEGATIVE impact on your health and figure!

I want to finish this post on a more serious note. The point I want to make is for you not get sucked into these fad diets, they think they are smart with their "health products", but most will follow a similar pattern. They are all the same. Save your money and invest it in real food. Oh and in terms of fat loss, if fat loss is your goal then yes, a calorie deficit is needed, but there is no need to drastically reduce your calories to the point you are starving and always hungry.

Always remember that your health matters and with good health, will come a great figure!

"Health, put it first!"

Thanks for reading!
Hadee.
