Forget the diets!

Yes, I said it... FORGET THE DIETS! I am amazed with how many different types of diets there are. Every day I come across a new diet, or a new "magic" way to lose fat fast. My reaction is always the same...



I'm like, REALLY!? Why do so many people spend so much money on these crazy diets? Why do they believe this nonsense? Then it hits me and upsets me at the same time, these people are desperate and vulnerable. Weight watchers, slim fast, lighter life etc... Companies like these know this and try to take advantage to increase profit, but we'll touch on this later.

Now, I totally understand, you may be upset with the way you look, you hate the way you feel and you can't stand being so self conscious every single time you are out in public. This is why I'm so passionate about this subject. This is the reason I set up my pages, to try and give good solid advice that hopefully brings you progress as you have made the commitment to start changing your life. The issue is that you want to start NOW and see results NOW. The problem is you are looking for quick fix ways in return for long term progress, I'm afraid it just doesn't work that way. If you rush into a relationship, 99% of the time it will not last. The same with your body, if you rush to change it, it will not last!

I can hear you all now shouting at me, "SO HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO LOSE WEIGHT THEN!?", my answer... patience! Make smaller changes. Sure, it'll start off as a chore, but chore will turn into habit, and habit will then turn into a lifestyle. Small changes allow you to make changes but not feel like you are missing out on anything. Too many changes too soon, gives you too much to adapt to, causing you to stress, resulting in you saying, "ARGHHHH FORGET IT!". This is the reason why people find it so hard to make progress, as they have an all or nothing approach and often give up when things don't go their way.

What I want you to always remember is that there is no special formula to fat loss and there is no special pill to your dream body. The "secret" to your dream body is eating healthy, working hard and staying patient. Sounds simple right? That's because it is! 

I done a bit of research on some health companies and noticed some shocking things when it came to their snacks. You know the ones, the ones that highlight "low calorie", "low fat", the ones that are in your face and make you think "Yay, I can eat this and it's good for me". 95% of the public do not read the small print, so will not be aware of this. Below is a little table I made when comparing weight watchers/slim fast snacks to the popular, well known brands...



Can you see my point? In most cases, the snacks from brands that claim they want to help you, the ones that portray such concern over your well being, have a higher sugar content than the snacks from the popular brands. This really does sadden me. Why? Because it is refined, added sugars like these that lead to obesity and type II diabetes. What these simple, refined sugars do is give you a massive energy rush and cause a sudden rise in blood sugar. Your body then releases EXTRA insulin into the blood, to try and bring your blood sugar levels down. This promotes fat storage, while giving you an "energy crash". When you crash, you will crave MORE sugar, hence why you can never "just have 1 today".

So this is why I say, not to worry too much on dieting. Just make healthier choices and overtime it'll become second nature to you. What do I mean by healthier options, I mean like less refined sugars, less processed rubbish, more exercise, more water and more fresh, whole, unprocessed foods. I promise you, by making this a lifestyle rather than just a quick fix diet, you will see progress that'll stay for a very long time. Yes, that is a PROMISE! Have faith in yourself, you're worth it and you are capable of so much. Make the REST of your life, the BEST of your life! Now to finish this off I'll leave you with a little quote;

"Make it a lifestyle, and it'll last a lifetime!"
